The Mainline Match Bait Range comes under the beady eye of Angler's Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He's the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

MAINLINE have launched a brand new match bait range, featuring groundbaits, pellets, syrups, boilies and wafter hook baits.

There’s a fine Match Method Mix, super fine Match Pole Mix and coarse Match Margin Mix, in 1 kg resealable bags, all specially tweaked for the job in hand.

The proven fishmeal and ground pellet, amongst other ingredients, in the Method Mix for example offer wide appeal, not just to carp. It mixes and breaks down perfectly, and you can couple it with the Activated Pellets in the same range and the new Sticky Syrups.

Available in 2, 4, 6 and 8 mm sizes, the Match Activated Carp Coarse Pellets and Carp Cell Pellets are designed to send a stream of attractive food signals through the water layers. The Activated Coarse Pellets also look useful for soaking for coupling with Method and hybrid feeders, whilst the Activated Carp Cell Pellets could offer a useful extra edge knowing the track record of Mainline Cell baits.

The Carp and Coarse Sticky Syrups are thick, viscous liquid boosters for adding to hook baits, pellets, particles even groundbaits. Not only will they disperse instantly along the bottom, to draw all species in, but they’ll also pull fish from above.

PVA friendly, they are available in Cell, Activ-8, Peppered Tuna, Frankfurter Sausage, Strawberry Tutti and a Pellet Enhancer Oil option, in 250 ml bottles. They’re designed to help trigger competitive feeding, on flowing water and still.

You couldn’t have a match bait range without hook baits, so there are 8 mm Match Boilies, Match Wafters and Dumbell Wafters.

Using proven flavours and additives, these high-leakage baits come in Chocolate (Orange), Cell (White), Tuna (Pink) and Pineapple (Yellow).

Critically balanced when matched with size 12 Guru QM1 hooks, the Match Wafters look perfect for hair-rigging alongside a feeder for fooling cagey fish. Or you could try hair-rigging a bait-banded Dumbell Wafter for optimising your chance of a hook-up.

All of the hook baits are sold in 50 ml jars. Mainline certainly don’t do things by halves.

Prices: Mixes £3.99-4.50; Pellets £3.50-£3.99; Syrups £4.99; Hook baits £3.99.
