BY COMBINING forces with Snugpak – with over 30 years of military sleeping bag experience Fortis have released a Compact Techlite sleeping bag for anglers.

On the back of the Fortis winter clothing and recent angling polarized eyewear launches, the Techlite Compact is a serious piece of kit for the angler that wants to travel light. A military style bag, handmade in the UK but tweaked for overnighters and longer sessions.

It isn’t a mummy shape, and it comes with elasticated hoods top and bottom to attach it to your bedchair.

It also comes with good-sized internal draught baffles alongside the crash zips, with another up near the neck to retain that all-important body heat.

It weighs less that 2.4 kg, and comes with the Snugpak Softie Premier insulation that soldiers and climbers have used for years. The Techlite sleeping bag also has a removable top layer that can be zipped back on when temperatures start to drop. The latter providing that extra warmth needed in extreme winter weather.

Adjusting from a 5-season bag to a 3 season one, with the top layer removed, also brings the overall weight down to less than 2 kg. You’ll also find you can fold it down into any bedchair or use the compression sack supplied. The Snugpak Paratex micro fabric being highly breathable and windproof so you shouldn’t sweat or feel any drafts.

With dimensions of 195 x 80 cm it’s been specially crafted to fit the compact popular range of bedchairs like the Trakker Compact Levelite and Wychwood Compact Tactical and others.
