THE new Tungsten Graviton Tubing from Kodex is reassuringly heavy, the idea being that it hugs the bottom of the lake behind your rig, ensuring that your main line is undetected when carp arrive in your swim.

Kodex report that it’ll even sink into soft silt, disappear completely, and I wouldn’t doubt it. It’s nice and supple, and strong, too, and I like the fact that the Weed Green, Chod Silt and Mud Brown varieties have a matt finish.

Kodex report that it sinks super fast, and it feels like it should. You can thread heavier, thicker lines (up to 0.50 mm) through it, too. It’s available in a 2-metre pack, and will surely appeal to barbel as well as carp anglers.

Price: £5.49 a pack.
