GARDNER STANDARD

£29.99
The main compartment, at 55x28x25 cm, is spacious enough for a camera, tackle box and plenty of bait and is complimented by three large, padded, double-zipped outer pockets for accessories, slings and sacks, although overall storage space is basic. Durable waterproof material and double stitched pressure points give a robust performer but lack of shrouding on the exposed top zip raises potential water ingress issues. Its base features moulded rubber pads to prevent wear but lacks adequate weatherproofing. Shoulder strap and handles are durable, padded and functional.
SCORE: 22/30

NASH HOOLIGUN

£21.99
Basic but functional budget carryall, nicely-sized for day sessions with a double zipped main compartment of 40x24x25 cm with an internal base stiffener and three double zipped external pockets. No padding or internal compartmentalisation but adequate room for a big tackle box, bait and accessories. Tough material is shower and tear resistant, but there is no shrouding or waterproofing on the zips or base and it could be a liability in serious rain and mud. The carry handles and adjustable shoulder strap are well-stitched and padded.
SCORE: 21/30

MAVER SMALL

£44.99
Slimline almost satchel-style carryall with a large, quick-release, ratchet-fastening flap covering the double-zipped 40x17x32 cm main compartment. Compartment includes three zipped storage areas and six pouches to give internal organisation, and although slim there is ample room for a large tackle box as well as a couple of big bags of bait. External storage includes two zipped areas and four large, padded and double zipped pockets. Waterproofed base and lower sides, and well padded and comfortable shoulder strap and handle complete an excellent package.
SCORE: 25/30

CHUB SNOOPER LARGE

£44.99
Semi-rigid main compartment of 50x24x27 cm swallows kit and bait, affords excellent protection to contents and maintains shape, although it does make it bulky and awkward to carry. Three velcro-sealed and one zipped flap give internal organisation with double-zipped and snap-lock flap giving good protection, and there are four large, padded external pockets for accessories with zipped mesh pouches for those last minute bits and pieces. Rugged construction and waterproof base will withstand the worst weather. Handle and shoulder strap are robust, padded and comfortable.
SCORE: 24/30

TRAKKER SL

£49.99
Basic carryall with a main compartment of 50x20x30 cm is ample for bait, tackle and camera for a day session. Main storage area is complimented by four large but un-padded external pockets with single zippers. Shower resistant material but lack of waterproofing to the top zip is a concern and there is no waterproofing on the base which could give problems in mud. Small touches, such as pullers on zippers, are absent, stitching is poor in places and the shoulder strap anchor point broke under load.
SCORE: 17/30

Three external pockets are padded and feature zip fastening mesh fronts for additional storage of small items with the front pocket large enough to take a tackle box.
