YOUTH overcame the old guard at this year’s British Carp Angling Championship.

In a highly experienced field it was rookies Wayne Rees and Luke Church who took the overall honours in a 48-hour contest they led virtually all the way through.

It was a great result for the 21-year-old Norfolk-based students, particularly as 2010 was their first attempt at claiming the BCAC crown and £10,000.
