ILLEGAL netting an historic stretch of the Warwickshire Avon has been slammed by locals and former World Champion Dave Thomas who won his individual gold medal on the venue.
Anglers were shocked last week after finding the huge 20-metre gill net stretched across the river.
Steve Simpson, fishing pal of this week’s Angler’s Mail cover star Jan Porter, discovered the net at dawn after seeing some suspicious people who then disappeared.
