MATCH winner Jonathan Taylor showed his versatility by catching this PB carp of 36 lb 8 oz from the River Cam – setting what is believed to be a venue record.

The 24-year-old from Nottingham, who represented England U-21s, caught the massive mirror on the second day of the season on the popular Cambridgeshire river.

Jonathan, who works at Dynamite Baits web media editor, said: ‘It was caught about 4am. This was the first run on our carp spots, although Matt Rand and I had caught just shy of 200 lb of bream on the Thursday 50 yards further along the river.

‘I grew up match fishing and since then I’ve branched out into other areas of the sport including sea and carp fishing. Double-figure barbel or bream are my next target!’ he added.
