Rail threat to dozens of fisheries including Savay

ANGLERS are still in shock that many historic waters in the Colne Valley are under threat from a high speed rail link.

As we’ve reported, 1980s carp mecca Savay Lake and tench wonder water Korda are both under threat from the High Speed 2 project that proposes to run 250mph trains on 15-metre-high viaduct-style structures – see www.anglersmail.co.uk/news/historic-savay-lake-faces-rail-threat/

Below is a list of all the waters that could be hit by the proposal.

And don’t miss next week’s magazine, dated January 4 and out in the shops for one week – as former Angler’s Mail legend Andy Little reveals his love for historic Savay where he made his carp name.
