THE Wasing Estate in Berkshire continues to knock on the door for the British carp record after the resident big ‘un The Parrot was banked at a new top weight of 64 lb 10 oz by Bernie Loftus after a 50 day-plus campaign.
Carping veteran, Bernie, from Hook, Hampshire, has been in fine form having banked the big common carp from the same the venue at 46 lb 14 oz the week earlier.
The mighty mirror continues towards the British record held by Oz Holness who caught the mighty Two Tone from Mid Kent Fisheries Conningbrook at 67 lb 8 oz in 2008.
But a lack of boilies going in the water might stop the record weight going, according to Bernie.
