IT'S been an awesome period for catches of the UK’s biggest carp - capped by a record carp for the north of Britain.

 

Leeds, West Yorkshire-based Alan Firth slipped the net under northern heavyweight at the Eric’s Angling Centre-controlled Willows Lake.

The 25-acre venue must now rank as one of the greatest day ticket waters in the UK, having changed from a syndicate basis in May 2013.

The fishery offers quality fish that anglers from the north of the country could never have dreamed of just years back.

This same week as this record carp for the North has seen  the Midlands produce the biggest-ever brace, and the South the fastest ever brace of 40s.
