ANGLERS have been warned not to be caught out without a rod licence as old ones expired on April 1, 2012.

This year’s 2012/13 Environment Agency full coarse licence features two roach. Ironically, a jokey version doing the rounds on the internet, and seen in our magazine, shows a cormorant chasing fish!

The real licence is available now, and many thousands of anglers have got theirs already – so get legal…

There’s no excuse not have a valid licence  so make sure you buy your before going fishing otherwise you could face a fine of up to £2,500 at the magistrates court.

You can buy EA rod licences at all Post Offices, over the phone on 0844 800 5386 (lines are open from 8.30am to 8 pm daily or online via www.environment-agency.gov.uk
