FANS of Jeremy Wade’s recent River Monsters series will be pleased to know that a third series has now been filmed and is being edited for release this year.

A DVD of Series 2, which finished on ITV1 last week, will be out soon, offering anyone who missed part of the seven-part series a chance to catch up on the action.

The two-disc pack offers 301 minutes of monster hunting, featuring a 700 lb giant freshwater stingray, giant snakeheads, goliath tigerfish, Alaskan sturgeon, Congo catfish, Nile perch and bull sharks.

This brings the total of 100 lb-plus freshwater species caught on camera for the River Monsters series to nine, seven of which were over 150 lb.

Series 3 should appear on ITV1 in the autumn, with a book written by Jeremy to accompany the series entitled: River Monsters: True Stories of the Ones That Didn’t Get Away, priced £15.99.

Read this week’s Angler’s Mail magazine, dated January 4, for more revelations from Jeremy, including how he and the crew were struck by lightning while filming the forthcoming third series.
