ANGLER’S MAIL is No.1 for weekly predator fishing coverage – but just because the main pike season is over it doesn’t mean everything stops.

Find out more on this match, including a catch picture of the winners, in this issue of Angler’s Mail magazine.

We have an exclusive report in our latest issue on the Lure Anglers Society Pike Pairs Competition at Esthwaite Water, Cumbria, sponsored by Savage Gear.

Every fishing club needs a prestige competition. An event that not only produces great fishing, but is held on a water that has that special ‘Wow’ factor. For the Lure Anglers Society that event is the Pike Pairs held each June on Esthwaite Water near Hawkshead in the Lake District.

Not only is Esthwaite a stunningly beautiful glacial lake which was carved from the very rocks of Cumbria by the last ice age, but it’s also full of monster pike.

Those receding ice flows were kind to the anglers that fish this gorgeous water, they created shallow reedy bays, deep bankside drop offs, mid lake submerged islands and deep inviting holes. In short they created a perfect pike fishing venue. The lake is filled with roach, perch, trout and eels all of which provide a healthy diet for Esthwaite’s toothy inhabitants.

Find out how the match went by reading Angler’s Mail the magazine.
