PADDLEBOARDERS on the River Severn have filmed what is believed to be the infamous seal known as Keith, who became a celebrity as it appeared on national news reports after taking up winter residence in the Bewdley area.

Tristan Bawn and Rob Yates filmed the seal recently near Gloucester as they trained for a paddleboard race. Their footage shows the animal, who, if it is Keith, is actually female and attracted a following on Facebook and Twitter after widespread media coverage, nosing their boards and swimming alongside the pair without any sign of fear.

If true, the seal has swum 30 miles downstream from where it was famously seen happily grazing on coarse fish to the delight of many wildife watchers and to the concern of anglers.
