Dead-catfish-in-hand-netTHE Environment Agency has completed the eradication of the only known wild population of black bullhead catfish in England, Angler’s Mail can reveal.

In a one-day operation, specially trained officers treated the unnamed lake in Essex with rotenone, a chemical that targets fish, whilst causing little harm to other aquatic life.
