OUT-OF-SEASON anglers had better beware as the Environment Agency’s Fisheries Crime Team has launched Operation Stone to catch the rogues and take their tackle.

Operations on the River Trent last weekend involved a team of Midlands bailiffs using a patrol boat to access parts of the river not easily approached on foot.

During the three-day overt patrol, over 120 miles of riverbank was covered in the Stoke to Cromwell area of the River Trent.
