The 53-year-old, from Loughton, Essex, who legered a huge lump of luncheon meat, told the Mail: ‘There was so much rubbish coming through that I decided to use a braided main line. I was taken aback by the difference in playing fish compared to mono.
‘This fish went berserk from start to finish and I was clueless as to what sizes it was as it felt like it could be anything between 6 and 16 lb!’
