A RECORD-ROCKING goldfish has been landed from a lake in Lincolnshire.

The huge fantail picked up a legered 14 mm Hutchy’s Monster Crab boilie just 20 ft from the bank at Moon Lake Fishery, at Tattershall, at 8.30am on the second day of an overnight session.

Gary Futter weighed it at 5 lb 8 oz, but the official goldfish record stands at 5 lb 13 oz, and unofficially a 7 lb 8 oz shocker was caught last year from UEA Broad in Norfolk.

Local Gary, who fishes the water every weekend, said: ‘I was after carp but when I got it to the net an orange face peered out.’
