THE long-standing British pike record could be obliterated any day.
The Wykeham Lakes croc has been sensationally landed just TWO OUNCES below the British best at 46 lb 11 oz. It fell to Wyndon Coole.
Wyndon came agonisingly close to the 46 lb 13 oz best caught by Roy Lewis in South Wales back in 1992 when he matted the beast from the North Yorkshire syndicate venue.
His fish is seen on our magazine’s front cover (above).
Some experts believe the pike might have died at the 7.5-acre Trout Lake as it hasn’t been seen since Andy O’Connor equalled the English record with it at 46 lb in March 2012.
