THE Environment Agency has just done a huge stocking into one popular midlands river, as reported in the latest giant Angler’s Mail magazine.

The EA has also stocked fish into other places:

DOWN SOUTH

Over 15,000 mixed fish went in, reared at the EA’s own fish farm, to: Penton Hook on the Thames, River Wey at Eashing and Elstead, Blackwater in Camberley, Ashtead Lake, River Cherwell in Thrupp, Bracknell Mill Pond, Rye Dyke, High Wycombe.

UP NORTH

And 3,000 barbel, 3,000 dace and 5,000 chub will go into the Clow Beck near Darlington, the River Wear in Durham and the River Tyne at Hexham. Dace will be stocked in the River Gaunless.

And on the River Aire in West Yorkshire, 2,250 barbel have been introduced at Apperley Bridge, Armley and Thwaites Mill.
