THE final wishes of a terminally ill tackle shop owner have been accomplished with the move to a cavernous new home.

Maureen and Chris Allen, and their daughter Kirsty, have worked from the confined premises situated on Eleanor Cross Road, Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.

But they have recently moved to a huge work unit space on Lea Road, just a few yards away from a popular stretch of the River Lea.

Chris, who has been a mad keen angler all his life and involved in the trade for the past ten years, said: ‘Maureen has been the driving force behind the business, piling in the hours to get us where we are.

‘She was given the dreadful news and diagnosed (with cancer) just as plans to move to a bigger, better place were really starting to come together.

‘It was great for Maureen to have at least seen the new shop which is at Target House, Lea Road, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1AN – only a few hundred yards from our previous home.

‘We intend to carry on stocking a limited amount of tackle in the old shop which will be tailored towards children and families,’ added Chris.
