AN UNUSUAL cocktail of halibut pellet and lobworm accounted for this stonking 16 lb 9 oz personal best barbel for Alan Booth.


The big ‘un followed another chunky sample of 13 lb 5 oz days earlier from the same stretch of the River Derwent on Derbyshire County AC’s water.

Alan hair-rigs his halibut pellets and then fishes the lobworm direct on the hook.
