Nash-labelBOILIES made by some of the biggest names in the bait business could be banned from sale across the country and removed from tackle shop shelves because of new EC rules that have already come into force.

European tackle shops have had large quantities of offending baits confiscated and the manufacturers forced to reformulate them because they don’t comply with EC laws on ingredients.

Strict controls on what food items can be thrown into lakes and rivers are behind the bans, which have already cost one of Britain’s biggest bait makers around £350,000 to make the changes needed to abide by the rules.
