ANGLER’S MAIL readers can show off their cooking skills on the lakeside and win top exclusive prizes thanks to a brand new competition being launched.

Cooking On The Bank kicked off last week with a new website plus some excellent prizes for those who can video themselves doing a Gordon Ramsay impression, a bit of comedy cooking or even something surreal.

COTB is the brainchild of Dom Morgan from thebigfish.tv and Masterchef of Great Britain Scott Ratcliffe and is aimed at educating anglers in the simple art of cooking proper healthy food.

The quarterly prize pool will be worth around £500 of Wychwood and CarpBalls products and the annual prize will be immeasurable in value as it will include money-can’t-buy sessions with some of the best carp anglers of our generation, and also an exclusive ‘Chef for the night’ with Masterchef of Great Britain, Scott Ratcliffe.

Throughout the past year the ‘COTB’ team has cooked with a host of top anglers including Ian ‘Chilly’ Chilcott, Derek Ritchie, Rob Maylin, Lee Jackson, Jerry Hammond, Samantha Collins-Ratcliffe and several others. Chilly explained while doing his cooking stint: ‘My wife simply would not believe I’m sitting here cooking. I’m not designed to live in a house or do anything domestic. I’d much rather live in a hole in the ground… but this does smell amazing and if I can do it anyone can.’

To enter the competition just visit www.cookingonthebank.org and sign up to the site on the ‘Get in touch’ page. Then upload your video (no more than 7 mins) onto YouTube and e-mail the link to the website’s competition e-mail address with your full contact details and a brief story.

Judges will include our own Tim Knight, Wychwood’s Nic Brown and the COTB team.
