A STRUGGLING city is getting a major angling boost as their forward-thinking council have ambitious to create a prolific fishing lake that will be FREE to fish.

Hull Council in East Yorkshire plan to splash £40,000 creating the lake from scratch in time for the summer at Orchard Park using cash from the Community Initiative Budget.

The idea is the brainchild of Labour councillor Julia Conner, who says she wants it to rival the impressive lake at East Park in east Hull.
