THE Environment Agency got a big thumbs-up by Angler’s Mail readers last week as an exclusive survey completed by over 600 of you strongly indicated they are getting it right on TWO important issues.

Firstly a whopping 82 per cent of you insisted the rod licence should not be scrapped and just 11 per cent saying it should go.

And secondly 59 per cent of you feel the current Close Season on rivers should stay in place. 24 per cent feel our flowing waters should be opened up for fishing 12 months of the year.

The results came as no surprise to former Labour MP and Angling Trust campaigns co-ordinator Martin Salter.
