THIS spring may have been wet but drought resulted in the biggest carp ever caught in a British Carp Angling Championship match over its 14-year history.

The stonking 45 lb 7 oz mirror carp came from North London’s Walthamstow No.2 reservoir. It’s a record for the popular day ticket water.

The venue had only been used as last minute substitute after Willows Farm, Hertfordshire, had been deemed unsuitable due to low water levels.
