AN INVASIVE foreign species of shrimp, commonly known as the ‘killer shrimp’ has been found in the UK for the first time ever.

The aggressive predator can grow up to 3 cm long and preys on other native shrimp, invertebrates and even fish fry.

Voracious Dikerogammarus villosus has been found at Cambridgeshire’s Grafham Water by two keen-eyed anglers, who spotted them and sent samples to the Environment Agency for identification.
