A LATE RUN of fish enabled Neil McKinnon to win the 17th Fish’O'Mania Final.
Televised live on Sky Sports 2, Gloucester-based engineer Neil scooped the £25,000 jackpot ahead of 4-1 starting favourite Tom Pickering at Cudmore in north Staffordshire.
In a great TV boost for the sport, Shakespeare Superteam angler Neil, who is backed by Dynamite Baits, told Sky Sports News viewers in their result bulletins how he “persevered and persevered” in search of carp on pellet over chopped worm and caster.
He finally added five or six fish in the final 30 minutes…and that made the difference.
The Champion of Champions match is on today, Sunday, also on Sky Sports 2 and Angler’s Mail will have Fish’O'Mania special coverage of the entire weekend coming soon.
