MAP and Marukyu join forces
LEADING match tackle brand MAP have joined forces with Japanese bait giant Marukyu in a co-branding deal.
Their crew of ace competition anglers includes twice Angler’s Mail-Kamasan Matchman of the Year Andy May, James Dent, Mike Robinson, Graeme Westwater and Shaun Little.
An MAP spokesman said: ‘The move means that as well as having access to some of the best tackle on the market, our stars can now match this with arguably the most scientific and advanced baits on the planet.
‘Marukyu has a rapidly growing reputation in the bait market, and with both brands launching many hugely anticipated products this year to include Maruku’s new 10mm JPz hookbaits and MAP’s Kit Case and Quick Change Feeders it is clear that both brands have exciting times ahead.’
MAP’s Andy May commented: ‘I’ve been keeping an eye on Marukyu for some time as anglers on the match circuit seemed to be getting some very positive results using it -
‘When we sat down with Marukyu’s product development director, Roy Marlow, it became obvious to us why the baits are so successful – they are simply light-years ahead of anything I have seen before.”
Andy’s confidence was rewarded as he celebrated his first trial of Marukyu’s baits with a win at Partridge Lakes.
