AMERICAN owned Cadence launched in the UK in August with some exciting rods and reels specially designed for fishing UK venues.
Top match fishing expert James Robbins was behind their design in conjunction with other respected anglers on the match circuit.
Because the range isn’t sold through tackle shops but sold direct to the angler Cadence are able to offer the range at great value prices – 40 percent cheaper than some of their competitors.
Not only that, they’re able to commit a portion of their profits from each sale to get more kids fishing, which is great, supporting junior anglers, especially Get Hooked on Fishing.
Cadence rods look on track to prove extremely popular for both commercial and more natural venues including rivers.
And there’s a full range of float and feeder rods to investigate, each coming with its own ‘power rating’, so you’re able to step up to a 13 ft Match 3 from the Match 2 or Match 1 in the same length if you need more power, for bigger fish or heavier payloads.
The long float rods have already caused a stir amongst river experts… anglers tuning in to the fact that you can match the length and action to the particular job in hand, whether it chub and barbel you are targeting or roach.
State of the art Cadence CS10 reels to match with the rods have shone in the range too, all thanks to the top quality gears and components a magnesium frame and carbon fittings.
Prices: Rods from £69.99 – £149.99, Reels £89.99
“The idea was to maximise the performance, quality and spec of the rods and reels at a very competitive price.
“By selling direct on the Internet we can offer the products at a very competitive price and we aim and achieve a 40 percent saving on comparable quality and spec products.
“The CR10 rods, CS10 and CS8 reel ranges were designed for the serious competitive match/ feeder angler and cover both natural and commercial venue applications.
“With input from our brand ambassadors we’ve designed and developed specific rods with lengths and actions that fill gaps in the market.
“We’ve far exceeded our expectations in sales since we launched the brand at the end of August. Growing sales in such a competitive market and building awareness for a new brand is not easy. However our products have been really well received and generated a lot of interest in such a short time.
“Our social media channels such as YouTube and Facebook have helped achieve this brand and product awareness as well as the review and story Angler’s Mail magazine ran back in September. We have also been keen to exceed customer expectations in order delivery and stock availability.
“95% of our products ordered through the website have been delivered next day and we’ve only been temporally out of stock of two products since we launched.
“We seem to have hit a niche area in the market for our longer match rods, particularly the 14, 15 and 16 ft versions. River fishing is enjoying a revival in many regions and anglers are finding these longer match rods make float fishing so much easier, especially on bigger rivers like the Wye, Severn and Trent.
“The fact that we offer the rods in 2 different actions (#1 and #2) is also helping as the extensive range helps anglers select the rod that is perfect for their requirements.
“We launched our reels at the beginning of October and the CS10 4000 reel has proved to be the best seller. These reels are made from magnesium to help reduce weight and are extremely smooth and powerful.
“The 12, 13 and 14 ft feeder rods are also doing very well as they are proving perfect for river and bream feeder anglers.
The fact we are offering such top quality and spec rods and reels at very competitive prices is also a great advantage and attraction!
“We’ve also had a great response to our initiative to support junior anglers, especially Get Hooked on Fishing and anglers like the fact that a percentage of the profits from the sale goes to this charity and other junior angling projects.”
