2015's National Fishing Month is on target to match the huge success of previous years - and Angler's Mail is right behind it!

There’s a free one-day rod licence in issues of Angler’s Mail magazine leading up to the main National Fishing Month period of 18th July to 31st August.

Organiser of NFM say morethan 250 events have already been registered on the official National Fishing Month website. Each entry on the NFM site details when, where and how anyone who wants to learn more about fishing can take part locally at events run by qualified and insured angling coaches.

Support from tackle firms

Tackle manufacturers Daiwa, Pure Fishing and Leeda – all members of NFM organisers the Angling Trades Association (ATA) – have been generous with their headline sponsorship.

Their contributions are significant as is the support received from the Environment Agency, the Angling Trust (AT), Angling Cymru, the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) and the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA).

There are a huge number of local events organised under the NFM banner, and this year also heralds several new, showcase initiatives.

These include the NFM launch event at ‘Parklife’, a free family fun day at Milton Country Park, Cambridge on the 19th July. Organised in partnership with Cambridge Sports Lakes Trust, Parklife allows visitors to explore a variety of ways to improve their health and wellbeing, as well as trying a range of sports with a view to inspiring them to be more active.

This is followed by coaching at the inaugural ‘Carp in the Park’ event held at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton (25th and 26th July).

The traditional NFM showcase event will take place at the CLA Game Fair, held this year at Harewood House, Yorkshire (31st July, 1st and 2nd August).

It will feature lakeside coarse coaching sessions organised by members of the PAA and, on the AT stand, there will be junior fly coaching.

The CLA team has been busy ensuring that the new look ‘fishing village’ area at the Game Fair will be a fabulous attraction for the hundreds of thousands of people who attend over the three-day event. The National Fishing Month coaching area will form a central attraction for anyone interested in having a go at fishing under expert tuition and, for children, there is no cost.

Goodie bags for all!

Everyone who participates in a NFM event across the country will receive a ‘goodie bag’ containing a ‘Get into Fishing’ booklet full of information on how to get started and advice on different types of fishing and a fishing log book.

Participants will also be presented with certificates of participation as lasting mementos of their introduction to angling.

The showcase schedule for 2015 National Fishing Month ends with the hugely popular Evesham Festival (29th, 30th and 31st August) on the River Avon in Worcestershire.

There are hundreds of other events across the country, open to everyone. To find a NFM event near to you, visit www.nationalfishingmonth.com
