ANOTHER month has passed since the last Big Fish blog from Korum but it certainly doesn’t feel like it.
It’s a very busy time for us all here at Korum. We’ve been collecting together all of the fantastic new products in time for our recent Press Day launch and Tackle & Guns shows, filming, and still managing to get some fishing time in!
Each year we invite all of the angling press to come and have the first look at the new products.
There’s a whole host of essential Xpert rig bits, designed to make your tackle selection simple; from Lead Clips and leaders, to interesting Meat and Boilie screws, there’s something for every carp and specimen angler.
The New Grub Feeder, a clever twist on maggot feeder design that is sure to put more fish in your net.
A new range of Xpert rods set to make specimen angler’s all of the country drool. They’ve taken over two years to perfect, having had many different rods made, our consultants believe these are the best range of specialist rods that money can buy and also the one that everybody is talking about; the 1 Man Carper – the first single rib shelter! Its modern design is sure to stand out in a sea of pramhood bivvys.
You can find out all about the new Korum tackle launch in the latest issue of Angler’s Mail where you will get the lowdown on the mag’s own favourite products.
Next up it’s time for the Tackle & Guns show, a chance to give the retailers and press a hands on chance to see the new products for 2014. We have the largest showcase area at the show, and it’s sure to be a good one.
The amount of planning and prep that goes into a show, new ideas, new ways to show off products and then there’s the task of building the huge stand. It’s all worth it, as the stand is always full of positive vibes from the retailers in this difficult industry.
Alongside producing all of these new products, we’ve filmed a series of short clips about some of our favourite products. These are all on the Korum Fishing YouTube Channel, perfect lunchtime viewing! You’ll find a whole host of videos on the channel; keep your eyes peeled for more in future.
Team Korum have still been out there doing what they do best – catching big fish! Brand Manager Mat Woods is at the top of the list, managing to slip the net under a huge 38lb common carp, a new personal best.
If any of you have read Mat’s blogs on the Korum Website you’ll know that he’s been after the Baden Hall common for a while now, possibly the nicest looking common in the country! Well, he’s getting closer to the prize with his latest capture. It can’t be long now!
Gary Knowles has been cleaning off his pike tackle and stocking up on Korum Snapper gear for the coming Pike season.
Ade Kiddell has spent the past few weeks on an epic European Road Trip. That you’ll have to wait and read about in next week’s Angler’s Mail.
Myself, well time has been limited but I’ve still managed to catch a couple of fish. I spent an afternoon on a new lake at Baden Hall with Mat Woods. Using the new Korum Grub Feeders cast 90yards toward the far bank we managed eight bites in around three hours. I even managed to bank a PB bream of 12lb (below)!
THE NEXT BIG FISH BLOG WILL APPEAR NEXT THURSDAY.
Don’t forget we have a new fishing blog here every day!
